The Maintenance Manager position is a hands on, working role. He/she will ensure the inspection of different equipment for proper functioning and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required per manufacturer's specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, have good time management skills, actively seek out and address issues, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. Must be able to delegate responsibilities as well as actively solve issues as they occur when human capital is scarce.
Maintenance Manager Responsibilities:
Conducting routine inspections of premises and production equipment
Performing preventative maintenance
Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
Complete minor repairs to refrigeration system
Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards
Supervise other maintenance technicians
Maintenance Manager Requirements:
Proven maintenance experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Related degree from a technical college
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
Experience performing routine maintenance
Strong organizational and follow up skills
Eye for detail
Professional presentation and attitude
Ability to maintain focus while working individually
Strong time management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of warehouse operations (Cold storage operations a plus).
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms.
Good interpersonal skills having the ability to work with all types of people.
Ability to read blueprints

The employee could be subject to extreme cold: temperatures typically between 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit in most areas and 0 to -10 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezers.
The employee may be subject to hazards in the facility including moving pallets; material and/or equipment handling.
