THE POSITION The mission of the Information Systems Team is to drive control, efficiency and business intelligence by designingbuilding software and integrating best-in-class 3rd party solutions. Reporting to the Group Head of IS, the Applications Development Manager will play a strategic role in delivering this mission by building and leading a highly effective development team, fostering technological and process best-practices, and serving the demands of both new projects and existing systems users. Wersquore looking for a results-oriented and proactive leader who considers long-term trends and broad business implications when determining approach or recommending actions. Must bring deep knowledge of modern SDLC, work well with people at all levels, and understand the role that software has in driving business outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead a global team of 6-10 developers including daily work management, mentorship (technical and soft skills), and career path definition. Set technical and architectural standards to extract maximum value from modern technologies and to ensure consistencysupportability across all software assets. Coordinate work efforts and dependencies across multiple delivery streams. Deliver high productivity and quality output from the entire development team. Daily operations, including serving as Scrum Master, ensuring that deliverables are produced on time, communicating status to various stakeholders such as Projects and Business teams, and helping teams resolve blockers. Establish and enforce best practices in code control, code reviews, unit testing, and DevOps. Constantly review processes within department, including Agile practices, and find ways to improve efficiency. Work with support and dev teams to establish proper test strategies for improving software quality and reducing bottlenecks. Add test automation where appropriate. Periodic international travel will be required. REQUIREMENTS Bachelorrsquos degree in computer science, information systems or software engineering 10+ years of applications development experience developer background is a must. 3+ years of experience leading development teams with direct reports ndash multiple locations preferred. 3+ years of experience in Delivery Manager capacity ndash coordinating efforts across multiple work streams and managing dependencies. Development experience across a broad range of technologies .NET Framework and .NET Core, MVC, WebAPIWebService integration, data warehouses and large dimensional databases, advanced SQL, ETL, SSIS. Experience working in an Agile environment. Scrum Master experience preferred. Experience with trading systems and understanding of related concepts like position management, mark-to-market, forex, hedging, risk and cost management -- physical commodities, CTRMETRM highly desirable. Experience with QA processes. QA automation tools desirable. Desired but not mandatory o Experience setting up continuous integration and delivery (CICD) pipelines. o Enterprise reporting platforms like BusinessObjects, SSRS. o Business Intelligence platforms such as Spotfire, Tableau, or Qlikview. o Time-series databases and analytical tools, e.g. ZEMA, Morningstar Commodity Data (LIM). o Experience collaborating with quantitative analysts embedded in Risk Dept. or trading desks who are building analytical tools in Python, R or similar languages.
